Can detox help you lose weight?
The brutal truth about losing weight is…
It’s hard to lose weight, especially if you want to do it the healthy way and actually keep it off.
Many people struggle to maintain a healthy weight no matter what they do.
What’s even harder is trying to sort thru the advice that’s on the Internet.
Train like this.
Squat lower.
Jump higher.
Eat carbs. Don’t eat carbs….
There is no shortage of misleading and confusing information out there, particularly when it comes to losing weight.
I’m IN the health profession and I can’t even keep up. Every time I open a new webpage, there’s breakthrough information that contradicts the last.
“Drop 30 lbs Fast!”
“16 Weight Loss Miracles!”
“The Secret to Breaking Your Weight Loss Plateau!”
It’s no surprise I click to read these articles.
Don’t you?
I have to give them credit for such compelling titles, but the content is often rubbish.
I will get to one of the most effective, safe, and easy approaches to weight loss in just a second. But first, I want to tell you about a woman I met not too long ago.
Meet Shannon.
A 36 year old mother of two who finally decided to take better care of herself.
For years she put everybody else first.
She frequently skipped meals, barely made it to the gym, and was constantly stressed.
She was going through everyday motions and was completely out of touch with herself and her needs.
Shannon could barely keep her eyes open during the day and had a lot of gut issues. She felt bloated, sluggish, and unhappy.
She hardly knew who she was anymore.
Shannon had forgotten about everything that was important to her. Life took over.
When Shannon and I met, she said “I can’t prepare healthy meals. They take too much time and healthy food is overpriced.”
Every time she started a health kick, it lasted about a week – and she would be left feeling moody, grumpy, and hungry.
Shannon and I began working together – making small modifications to her diet, her supplements, and her lifestyle. In a short period of time (6.5 weeks to be exact), she saw remarkable changes in her health and well-being.
She literally went from out of shape and on the verge of a nervous breakdown, to balanced, fit and happy.
The transformation was incredible.
Today, I’m sharing Shannon’s journey with you plus the five principles she followed.
Principle ONE:
Prepare all healthy meals on Sunday.
Put them in glass containers and store them in the fridge.
Feed your body natural whole foods from this grocery list and try these delicious recipes provided. Limit processed foods, sugary treats, and fast food as much as possible.
Principle TWO:
Get outside and walk in nature each day for at least 20 minutes.
Not only does this help burn calories, it’s important to breathe in fresh air and take time to reflect.
Principle THREE:
Add fibre to your diet (legumes, chia seeds, flax seeds, oatmeal, fruits/vegetables) plus take a daily fibre supplement.
Most Canadians are lacking fibre (getting only 10-12 grams per day).
Aim for a minimum of 30 grams per day to get the bowels moving.
Principle FOUR:
Drink plenty of filtered water and 4-6 cups of herbal tea per day.
Cleansing teas such as burdock, dandelion, peppermint, ginger and milk thistle are encouraged.
Principle FIVE:
Support optimal liver health by taking liver cleansing herbs.
A 30 day liver detox program can help boost liver function, enhance fat burning, and elevate energy.
Chemicals in food can impair liver function and the liver is the #1 FAT burning organ. In order to boost metabolism, lose weight, and feel energized, it’s important to ensure the liver is functioning optimally.
Shannon lost 13 pounds, 4 inches off her hips and 2 inches off her waist. She felt healthier than ever!
I don’t believe getting healthy should be difficult. That’s why I create easy programs that my patients can follow.
Whether you want to lose 5 or 25 pounds, the starting point is the same.
Losing weight starts with the liver.
Happy Cleansing!
